Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel Refurbishment King's Lynn

Diamond cut alloy wheels look fantastic when they’re new, but even light damage, corrosion or kerbing can quickly spoil their appearance. At Paint Genie, we specialise in professional diamond cutting at our King’s Lynn workshop, restoring wheels to a crisp, factory-quality finish using the correct equipment and process. Providing specialist diamond cut wheel repairs for drivers in King’s Lynn, Wisbech, Downham Market, and Swaffham.

This isn’t a cosmetic smart repair. It’s a full refurbishment, carried out with precision, care and pride in the final result.

Diamond cut wheels often require refurbishment due to:

    • Kerb damage and scuffing

    • Lacquer peel and corrosion

    • Scratches and surface imperfections

    • General wear and age-related damage

Because diamond cut finishes are so precise, they can’t be repaired properly with quick fixes. To achieve a clean, sharp result, the wheel must be fully stripped and re-machined, and that’s exactly what we do.

Our Professional Diamond Cutting Process

We follow the same proper alloy wheel repair process as our standard refurbishments, with additional specialist steps for diamond cut finishes:

  1. Tyres are removed to allow full access and safe refurbishment.
  2.  Any damage is repaired, including straightening or welding if required
  3. The wheel is placed in an acid bath, stripping it back to bare metal
  4. The wheel is then blasted to remove any remaining surface imperfections
  5. A base powder coat is applied, creating the correct foundation for cutting
  6. The wheel is mounted in our Precision CNC Diamond Cutting Lathe, where it is digitally mapped
  7. A fine layer of metal is cut with absolute precision, exposing a freshly machined face
  8. Finally, the wheel is Powder Clear Coated to protect the finish and enhance durability adn offer UV Protection.

This process restores the wheel’s sharp lines and distinctive two-tone finish, delivering a result that closely matches the original factory appearance.

When Diamond Cutting Is Necessary?

Diamond cutting is a specialist skill, and it’s not something we rush. Each cut removes a microscopic layer of metal, so accuracy and experience matter. Our equipment and attention to detail allow us to achieve a clean, even finish while maintaining the integrity of the wheel.

We’ll always be honest about how many times a wheel can be safely diamond cut and advise you on the best option for long-term results.
